Be a part of the amazing and dynamic group of volunteers that will help run the 5th Anniversary of the Calgary National Bank Challenger men’s and women’s professional tennis tournament!

Our volunteers assist the organizing committee members, players, officials, spectators, and activities.

Over 2,700 volunteer hours were contributed in the 2023 Calgary National Bank Challenger event! We are grateful to all the past volunteers and the perspective volunteers that are going to join us on the next 2024 edition – thank you!


Usher: Ushers control access to courts and direct spectators to appropriate seating areas. They are also responsible for opening and closing the ropes and supervising the viewing areas.

Ticketing Desk: Volunteers in this group are responsible for coordinating the pick-up/drop-off of the tickets. They assist with the distribution of various accreditation passes and badges to those arriving at the venue.

Access Control: Access Control volunteers validate tickets for admission and check other forms of accreditation for access. They are stationed at various checkpoints at the venue.

Volunteer Shift Lead: The volunteers in this group will be responsible for helping the tournament staff with day-to-day volunteer schedule management, which includes monitoring the shift check-in procedure, rotation of volunteers in different areas of the centre, managing breaks and other general tasks.

Volunteer Lounge Food Services: Individuals in this group will supervise the Volunteer Lounge. They will be responsible for replenishing and organizing food and beverage products.

Social Media: Will be responsible for posting daily activities to the stories on the Calgary National Bank Challenger platform and highlighting sponsors. Must be comfortable using platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Must be comfortable creating photos, taking, and editing short videos for social media.

Photography: Can choose to capture either event photography or sports photography. Due to the nature of this position, photography volunteers may be required to share a small portfolio of work.

Transportation: Volunteers in this group provide shuttle service for players, coaches, officials and tournament staff. Generally, the shuttle service is between the airport, the venue and the tournament hotel. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age and hold a valid Alberta Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract. A police background check is required for all drivers.

Airport Greeter: A group of volunteers will be sent to the airport in the early stages of the event with our tournament staff to meet and greet the players, coaches, officials and others. Volunteers will be assisting with directing players to their designated buses and ensuring the player arrival list is up to date each day.
